If you're looking for a resort-style experience, this is not the campground for you. If you're opposed to seeing other RVs that have some age to them, this is not the campground for you.
Location, Location, Location. That is this RV Park's selling point. It is right on the Atlantic Ocean. A short walk and you are on the beach. The place is old and spaces are tight. Lots of long-term summer residents. Many are fisher people who haul their tackle and gear out to the beach and spend the morning and evening hours. Friendly folk. The lady who checks you in and runs the place is a dear. Showers and toilets are tight and old, but everything works and the water is good and plentiful. Sewer hookup is the rear of your site and was a long run from our RV port.
Surf City Family Campground still isn't a place to visit if you're worried about exclusivity or have issues with folks spending the night in their car/truck in order to get an extra day of fishing in. They do an excellent job of managing the facilities despite the seemingly last-minute nature of a lot of their guests, and anyone I've ever had a conversation with while staying there was more than pleasant.
